The catalogue of the Obelisco Gallery and Irene
Brin Archives is created in Image AXSPro and will be subsequently
transferred to EmBark which is considered one of the most advanced
image archive and managing systems used by international libraries and
museums.
This filing system allows users to directly access
images of all documents so as to minimize handling of papers and
photos. This includes correspondence, visual documents, and small
manuscripts. Items comprised of multiple pages are listed by the first
page only.
In order to access the collection, users shall
send a formal request explaining the purpose of their research and
indicating the institution and department with which they are
affiliated. Requests need to be as specific as possible, describe the
scope of the research and specify which files of the archive are
sought.
After this first step applicants will receive our
library user’s form to be returned signed and accompanied by two
recommendation letters (one from the head of the affiliated
institution) and a copy of a personal ID.
Photocopies and copies of photographs may be
obtained at cost.
Loans from the collection are considered for
exhibition purposes only.
Access to the collection is temporarily suspended
in order to accelerate the filing of the new digital catalog. We might
be able to accommodate some limited requests. Please contact us for
details. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please do not contact us by phone. Thank you.
